We’re so grateful for Carmelie and the incredible impact she had on our son’s speech. When we started, he struggled with sounds like ‘r’ and ‘th’ and spoke so quickly it was hard to understand him. Carmelie worked with him weekly over Zoom for about a year, and the progress was amazing. She was patient, engaging, and made every session feel fun and natural. Our son looked forward to seeing her, and we always felt supported with helpful feedback and tools to use at home. Looking back at old videos, we’re blown away by how far he’s come and it is all thanks to Carmelie’s warmth, dedication, and skill.

When we first started virtual speech therapy, I was so nervous it wouldn’t work for my son. He has sensory needs and is very anxious. Carmelie was understanding of that and would often ask how he was doing, what he needed, if she could do anything to make it easier for him, etc. That is what allowed him to open up to her, he felt heard by her every session. She always made a very conscious effort to connect with him, learn his interests/hobbies and brainstorm what would work for him in order to keep him involved (and tied those into sessions every week). I could tell when I’d watch her interact and speak to him how passionate she was about helping children reach their highest potential. She was understanding that sitting for 30 mins for some children can be difficult but handled his lack of focus when he strayed with such patience and understanding. That, for me, made all the difference and what I truly believe led to my son’s success with her. When I asked my son if there is anything he’d like to say to Ms. Carmelie, his response was “I love her and miss her. I am never going to forget her.” Neither will I.
